Subject: Review for Frances
Frances has blessed our son, DS, with her care, patience and skills initially as an RBT and then as a BCBA. In 2018, when DS started ABA therapy, he lacked language to communicate his needs and Frances was the assigned RBT that mostly worked with him. Frances constantly reassured us after every therapy pickup to trust the process and encouraged patience. When DS started communciating his needs with limited speech within 6 to 9 months of working with him, DS’ speech was robotic for a while and it worried us, Frances again reassured us to trust the process. Her time with DS reinforced our confidence that the therapist working with your child matters as they will do all they can to help the child while helping the family cope to understand the process.
In 2020, exactly 2 years of working with DS, the pandemic happened and DS’ ABA therapy got paused and eventually discontinued. When DS had a hard time not seeing Frances and working with her. We reached out to Frances who graciously gave her time to set up brief virtual weekly meetings to have DS see her and engaged her to put a smile on his face. She was also helpful in providing ideas to engage DS during a choatic time that disrupted his progress as he was almost completing potty training but was still working on communicating his needs better with improved speech. Frances was professional, courteous and broke down ABA therapy to encourage patience while trusting that our DS will benefit from all the work we are pouring into him.
In Summer 2023, when we had some concerns about DS, we reached out again to Frances to work with him as a BCBA consultant to help our family figure out how best to support him. Frances once again came through for our DS and our family. So, we are very excited that she is setting up her own business to help families because she will center the child and their family above anything else.
